Woodland management

This is the time of year when action has to be taken before it is all too late again.
Once upon a time we had a large empty field.
We planted trees here there and everywhere, let 20 years go by, and now we can't see the trees for the trees.
They were planted with the idea that they might provide some firewood and Lo! it has come to pass.
These oaks were grown from acorns and have come on really well.
Of course, the good thing is that after you have cut them down they grow right back up again in another 20 years or so.....
The bad thing is carrying the logs back to the wood store - I have managed to strain my neck. Perhaps we should have planted them nearer the gate!
