Je suis Asterix

I have a strong objection to the general infantilisation of adulthood, and generally I try to avoid nostalgia. Which is by way of excuse for this recent purchase. I used to read a lot of Asterix, finding it both witty and also faintly reassuring in its style. After the Charlie Hebdo attacks, the artist Uderzo came out of retirement to draw a couple of Je suis Charlie cartoons. Then a couple of days later I was browsing ebay and say this pack of omnibus editions going cheap, and in that impulse buy moment, I put in a bid. They arrived yesterday and I read the first one. It's still charming, but not as funny as I recall.
