The Running Of The Deer - Wild Boot Chase

All excited today, the sun was shining and I was off to Fyfield to collect my new Argyll wellies. As I drove through Epping Green I spotted a few deer. As usual when I approached they all froze and stared at me. I got the above shot as they turned and high-tailed it.

My plan was to pick up the wellies and then go for a walk along the banks of the river Roding. I was so disappointed, they weren't the lovely, light, dainty, comfortable women's boots but horrid, hard, heavy galumphing men's. :( It seems that the women's have been discontinued. I tried a pair of boots that were quite comfortable but they didn't have my size at Fyfield. There was a pair at Ulting. Off I set. The road to Ulting was blocked by an overturned lorry and I got lost in a maze of tiny single track lanes.

It was dark when I got to Ernest Doe's. I bought the boots but they're not really me. They're black with honey soles, two gold stripes up the back, golden bees flying all over them and a gold buckle on the side. Ideal for wearing at Glasto with tanned legs and a pair of abbreviated shorts.
