McKenzie Falls

Australia 2013 Backblip #18

Up early and out for a walk to The Pinnacle. We drove to the sundial car park and then walked out to the lookout. We then returned via Lake View lookout.

We then drove to McKenzie Falls for lunch but the kiosk was shut, so we made lunch from some fruit and nuts we had in the car and starfish biscuits given to us on checkout in Port Fairy. We walked down to the base of McKenzie Falls where we were in the company of at least four other tripod wielding photographers.

We then drove back to Halls Gap and had some freshly squeezed apple juice and cake. We were hoping to do a night walk with a nature guide in the evening, but the other couple who were interested pulled out, so it was cancelled.

Dinner was at the Kookaburra Bistro in Halls Gap, and were surprised to see two deer near our cabin as we drove back. We thought they were kangaroos at first!

We later spotted a stag in a field, and another three deer crossed the road in front of us.
