The tree people came today to plant three new silver birches and to fell the dead one.  They worked faster than I anticipated and I spotted too late that the chainsaw was running.  I just got in place in time, but omitted to notice the aperture...

So we have an art'y shot for today.

The tree was deader than a dead thing.  The top part didn;t need cutting - it shattered.  According to the moisture meter it's practically ready to burn!

We've left a section of trunk to experiment with carving it.

In other news the dentist fitted the crown today.  Thankfully it fits much better than the two (failed) temporary ones I've had over the last few days.
