Superb engineering

This stretch of rock wall in Mount Pleasant collapsed and blocked the road after the February 2011 earthquake. The road was closed for nearly two years. The whole rockface now has huge steel strengthening rods inserted horizontally (the ends are poking out in the photo). They then constructed the giant steel railings and supports to secure the footpath of the street above. I am really impressed with this whole project.
