First Scottish Bird Fair

Went to the First Scottish Bird Fair at Hopetoun House outside Edinburgh.

There were a lot of interesting stalls and A. treated herself to new lighter binoculars. I got a book - A Birdwatching Guide to Brittany in preparation of our cycling holiday in Brittany in July.

We went to a workshop by wildlife photographer Dean Bricknell which I enjoyed very much. He relies on getting exposure etc right in camera and lots of patience and observation of bird behaviour.

We watched the Lothian group ringing birds and blipped this one of a goldfinch.

We would have stayed longer but it was very cold. Pity the first Bird Fair did not get proper May temperatures.
