Staying alive

Woke this morning to a very light covering of snow, but the sky was blue in places.  Saw this wee squirrel in the garden; he has been very busy feeding on the seeds dropped by the birds from the feeder.  The birds have also been very busy this morning.  These are tough times for them, and we do our best to make sure they at least have food and water. 

The blue sky has disappeared and the snow is coming down quite heavily now.  I am fortunate to have a good warm house, and can enjoy the falling snow from my large double glazed picture window!  Some are not so lucky!
