Protected tree

This tree and the patch of land surrounding it belong to Seafield Estates, who sold off the rest of the land for housing. It is believed to be ancient and when a neighbouring house had an oil spillage a few years ago, a team of specialists were despatched from England to dig trenches to protect the roots. They were in situ for some weeks and all came from insurance!!!!!
It is a beautiful old tree.
