The first election poster I've seen - the first of many, but this one is very local to Salford

Bez of the Happy Mondays is standing for the Salford and Eccles constituency, on behalf of the Reality Party, so wanting to be Hazel Blears successor. Trouble is the Electoral Commission will not accept the party's name because it is too like the "Realists Party", which is already registered - so he and his supporters will need to find a new name. Suggestions on a post-card ..........

Showing this to a colleague this afternoon, he recalled seeing the Happy Mondays in Sheffield, a good concert and afterwards he saw Shaun Ryder, Bez et al exiting a door outside. Bez had a very attractive girl on each arm, so he thought - typical rock and roll lifestyle. But they turned out to be his daughters.

In the interests of political neutrality I should now probably blip every other party's poster !
