Tree of life

Glad it's Friday! Hoping the weekend goes nice and slow but I know it won't!

Got home to find a parcel had been delivered. Last Christmas I made a donation to the hospice where my dad spent his last days, to have a leaf put on the 'tree of life' in their garden for a year. This is the leaf which has now been returned, along with a lovely card and the little name tag that went with it.

While it brought back some sad memories I think it is a lovely thing to have, and I need to get it put in a frame at some point. I still have nothing but admiration for those nurses, doctors and other staff who work at the hospice, they made a horrible experience much more bearable with their compassion and humour.
