for 365

Hello all you lovely people.
For a belated #365 I wanted to have something great, though nothing had presented itself lately until I remembered the walk I did with my husband around Xmas in southern California. I like especially the walkway they smoothed for the couple.
I've been away as I took a few weeks off after the death of my uncle, which was followed by a really unfortunate fall by an aunt, also elderly. I realize I don't actually have very much time if I want to plan thoughtfully for my mom's aging at home. So I have been reading (Atul Gawande's Being Mortal, next up is Jane Gross' Bittersweet Season) and thinking, and planning for the year and beyond, and starting to talk and plan with my mom. Meanwhile life heedlessly rushes on:  the annual review of global risks has to be made for the bosses, the final chapter proofs submitted, and planning for travel, the pup's summer, and job change have also consumed my time. I don't know that I will get to do the travel I dream about this year. But there has been some lovely movie-watching (Holiday, His Girl Friday, Before Midnight, Philadelphia Story, Imitation Game, Big Hero 6), art viewing, reading (Map of Betrayal, All the Light We Cannot See, Glass Palace save the last 50 pages, left in the car my brother drove off in, etc.) and much time with family, all good.
I also have thought a little about photography and the desire to do something a bit more purposeful. Closer, but not quite there, though it does mean my posting will be less daily and more erratic. But I've definitely missed Blip, and thanks to all the very kind people who have generously starred shots, made comments, or stopped by.
