Farewell
Back blip
My mother loved windmills and she had numerous ornaments dotted around the house. When a neighbour found this out many years ago he started to make them for her out of wood and always made sure he put her initials on them. So it seemed only fitting that there should be a floral windmill at her funeral today. The florist did a brilliant job and my mum would really have loved it. The funeral service was emotional and lovely, just a small gathering, personal, just right.
Afterwards we went to her favourite tea shop in a local garden centre and a couple of her carers came along too and told lots of stories about about my mum, so lots of laughter and happy memories.
