Grandchildren......

...................on Holiday

Marcus turned four in December and Sophia celebrated her fifth birthday last September.

It has been another very hot day with a clear blue sky and a very gentle breeze.

Across the causeway and at the start of the Abel Tasman Park, this sign greets all walkers. We were walking to Porters Beach to enjoy a swim and our picnic tea.
As the evening incoming tide crept quickly over the hot and vast sand flats the shallow water was warm and perfect for two enthusiastic young swimmers to make the most of one of the local beaches.
A variety of wading birds along the foreshore were of interest as were the cicadas. Their noise was tremendous and it was exciting finding their cast off skeletons on the ground, under leaves and clinging to tree branches. Live ones too - I’ve never seen so many live ones scattered low on tree trunks.
Along the water’s edge were several clear round jelly fish the size of dinner plates – and of course shells, seaweed and the all important sticks Marcus loves collecting and bringing home. Today, he discovered a sturdy walking style one and that is now sitting in our garage.

Thank you for the comments, stars and hearts for yesterday’s bunch of Sweet peas.
I appreciate your continued comments and your understanding for my lack of them and replies.
