Margs Wines in UK Wine Club...
Most recently two blipper buddies ladypop and ValC mentioned that they had tried a Margaret River Windows Estate, Basket Pressed, Cabernet Sauvignon at their wine club in the UK - very nice but rather expensive was the verdict!
Today we thought we would go to Windows Estate and try this wine. It is a well awarded, but very small vineyard of only 15 acres run by a young husband and wife team.
In chatting to the lady she was quite amused and impressed that their wines had travelled so far to a UK wine club. However, she said there had been a group of wine knowledgeable English folk who had visited and had bought a lot to take back to the UK. Amazing how such a small winery can have an impact a world away.
We tried three different whites which were very nice but a bit pricey. They also had a huge stainless steel vat of freshly pressed olive oil on tap which was very reasonable at $10 for a 750 ml bottle. We tried some tonight with a baguette and a glass of white and it was scrumptious. We will return!
The fotos in the collage are of their homestead style wine tasting rooms, front verandah, a dam, front gate and lastly the bottles we bought of white wine and olive oil.
Thanks Blip buddies.
