Qur'an on a camel shoulder blade
I took this picture in a nondescript little building labeled Bidiyya Museum. It was crammed full of old manuscripts, dishes, weapons, and furniture from the former inhabitants of that area. The town of Bidiyya is located on the orange, ever-encroaching dunes of Wahiba Sands and is home to many of the Bedouins that roam those sands. In modern times, they roam in 4WD vehicles, though they still raise camels and camp out under the stars routinely.
