Winter Aconite

This pretty little plant is slow to appear this year, although I don't include it until week 5, plant number 14 in my book. Eranthis hyemalis is named because of its appearance in winter. However the only reference I can find for "Aconite" relates to poisonous properties of Aconitum, the "Monkshood"
The flower is shown to good advantage by its little green ruff, provided it doesn't get buried in snow it should be flowering for another three weeks.
