Birthday gifts (and a bit more)

Yesterday was my birthday (25th again!) and so today was going out spending the money I'd been given and I also used my Blip to try out some smart new kit I have just bought for the camera to help my work. Birthday money was spent on a nice bottle of Legacy by Tomatin and this one came with two whisky tumblers so I am looking forward to trying them out once I have given the glasses a bit of a clean.

The new kit thing is really exciting though and it seems to be working really well. Later next week I am going to be shooting for two days at a conference and the client wants me to provide images throughout the two days for use on social media. Rather than having to keep transferring the images to the computer, I now have a couple of SD cards that also have a wi-fi hotspot in them so the social media team will be able to connect to my card whilst I am still snapping and take the photos straight off my camera. I'll also have a CF card in the other slot of my 5D MkIII's so that I can edit the images they'll want after the event in higher quality but still give them smaller sized JPEG's from the SD card. I'll be doing a blog post on this on my website next weekend to see how it faired on the job. If you are interested in techy stuff like this then have a look on rich dyson photography website's blog.
