Snowsculptures
In Listagilið today there was a snowsculpture-workshop where people were invited to participate in creating art using this cold and abundant material we have here in Akureyri.
After we had been to the exhibition in Listasafn Akureyrar / Akureyri Art Museum to see the works of Elísabet Geirmundsdóttir (1915-1959) we walked past the workshop and saw the making of two polar bears and a third sculpture which had not taken a recognizable form yet. You can see their model, a small polar bear-figurine, on top of the sculpture if you look closely :)
Quiet Saturday at home... I made cinnamon buns and Daníel is making Indian curry for dinner. Kári is studying for one of his end-of-term exams and spent most of the day studying with his friend Axel. He's taken 4 exams already and says he's done very well so far.
Also: Some people say Icelandic is a strange language, but this "word" in Swedish made me laugh!
