Race day

We spent the morning transfixed by these superfit athletes: down at the race start, coming round the loops, up and down the hills and finally at the finish line (above) in the centre of the village. The course was shortened due to the weather conditions, but that didn't deter the athletes or the spectators.
It has snowed most of the day: the downhill resorts have been closed due to avalanche risk and this evening we received an automated telephone message telling us we cannot go out in the morning as the road will be closed from 07:15am. The garage door will also lock down (controlled by the local comune) so no trying it even if we wanted to! Once they have blasted the avalanches and cleared the debris, then we are safe.
