Meet John

I have known John for 12 years - he is my wife's Grandpa. He is always full of fun and loves telling stories of where he came from - Blackhill. He worked in the gas works and on the railways as an electrician - sounded like a great deal of hard work.

Last year he was diagnosed with vascular dementia and the change in him has been dramatic, it is a devastating illness. He still laughs but most of the time he doesn't know who most of us are. It's been very difficult on the family. Today, however he had a good day. 

I will always remember him as who he really was - a happy, loveable wee man.
