Roads to Snowhere
We had a little snow this morning and it was pretty icy underfoot but soon disappeared. The forecast looked ok and so I headed across the River Severn, into Wales and onto Talybont Reservoir in the Brecons. There was quite a lot of snow lying in the fields but the roads were mostly clear with only slush and mega-puddles slowing me down.
I spent an hour by the water then made my way further up the valley to the Waterfalls at Blaen Y Glyn. Ideally I would have stopped at the top car park but the road was still covered in snow and too dodgy for my little motor so I parked at the bottom of the hill and made my way up the forest path by foot. And what a climb! It was rewarding though will beautiful scenery, especially in the snow, and several waterfalls to stop at and take some long exposures.
I made it to the top car park, had a bite to eat then it started snowing. I'd intended to get to the largest waterfall in the area but I was concerned about getting the car snowed in so I made my way back down to the car.
As it happens it didn't snow for long. Another reason to go back then, goodo.
