Swimming With Horses

The wife loves her horse riding, and especially cantering along the beach. Back home she used to ride a lot but when her shifts changed she no longer had the time.

When we came to this hotel in Mauritius a few years ago for the first time (because they have excellent stables) she asked if she could take the horse in the sea, swimming. It wasn't something they normally did, but allowed it.

Well, she was wearing an orange costume and was on a white horse. It attracted no end of photographers and people wanting to do the same. Since then, they now advertise it as 'Swim with horse experience'.

I did it last year but got thrown off the horse as it came out the water and was spooked by a sail flapping of a hobby yacht. I couldn't bend for three days and my wife had to help me dress! I decided to give horse riding a miss from then on.

The blip photo shows her on Jean-Francoise (the stable supervisor) own horse which is an ex racehorse, as are the others in the excellent stables in the hotel grounds.

You can clearly see the horse is enjoying it as much as the wife.
