But what about me?
The most unusual thing has happened....Gavin was contacted by a TV producer who is making a prime time TV documentary series for ITV1 and they wish to shadow Gavin for a day and document his role at work and then also film the family...who they wish to immerse in a 'unique experience in the life of a family at the other end of the financial spectrum'. For two weeks they wish us to experience a different occupation, income, lifestyle and home, exploring first-hand the life of a low income household.
Is this some kind of joke? It appears not, the award winning producer did The Great British Bake Off and that other series called 'Famous, Rich and Homeless'. I thought he was desperate contacting us - who would want to do that? It is not as if we are famous or at the top end of the financial spectrum that we need to experience the 'other end', and we know what a low income household is like as we all started somewhere and I don't want to go back to those poor student days or early married life of counting the days until pay day.
And what about Murdoch? They did not say if we swap with another family who move into our home, while we enjoy the delights of a council estate, but Murdoch would not like that at all!
It was worth a family discussion about the merits of doing something like this, but not for us. Adam discussed this with his friends and a teacher at school, and there was an interesting debate on the matter and some viewed it as a chance in a life time while others said what an awful loss of privacy it would be. I agree with the latter, regardless of being on ITV1 or not!
