A Pitch Before Sunset

The weather was perfect for a Microadventure and it's been ages, probably a year, since I've put all my camping gear to good use, so Simon and I headed off soon after midday for a hike into the Dales.

Fresh snow all around, sunshine bright, very cold(!), backpacks heavy, we made good pace to a spot near Ingleborough and found a good spot quite quickly.

Once pitched, when the sun went down it got very cold very quickly, but we had good cold weather gear, hot food and drinks (including drinks that you wouldn't normally have hot, but under the circumstances...)

Overnight we had hail, more snow, gales, but I slept like a log - got about 9hrs!!!
