last day of the literary festival

all day in the beautiful Sir Mutha Venkatasubba Rao concert hall. too many very good speakers, conversations, and even a theatre-dance performance to close the festival. 

this photo is taken during the session called: ''Challenging the Status Quo: Powerful Women in conservative Societies'' by Justice Leila Seth (beautiful mother of Vikram Seth) and Jung Chang the Chinese writer (Wild Swans-among others) both very interesting and so very different from each other. enormous differences in their experience of course, with the one having been educated with respect and all possibilities that a woman of her class had in India and the other being ''formed'' by life under Mao. Many other discussions and talks today. varied, high quality, never boring!
