clarinet quintet concert

Sunday means a multitude of (free) concerts throughout Paris.  Today I chanced upon a clarinet quintet at this little church Notre Dame de la Compassion in Paris (Porte Maillot).  Caught between the péripherique, the 35 story Hotel Sofitel, a busy rotary and the airport bus terminal, it is quite a surprise!  Built in 1843 at the spot where crown Prince Ferdinand d'Orléans was thrown from his horse and died.

The concert was extraordinary!  First time I've seen a bass clarinet.
