Is there anything wrong with routine? "Stuck in a rut" they say.

But sometimes you need a little routine and over the last wee while I seem to have acquired several good weekend ones.

For example, Saturday morning: proper porridge, made in a pot not the micro, its the only way to get that little edge from the bowl that holds, just the way mum used to make it.

Later: Wholefoods, for coffee and a freshly baked sourdough, used to make the best sandwich I can (this week's was oak smoked salmon and dill, with fresh leaves).

Sunday: stroll round Queens Park, today filled to the brim with happy people in the sun and snow, many with sledges in tow.

And then: dinner at the folks, fielding the phone/internet/laptop/pc problems - :-) - then the Sunday Post quiz. We always ace it.

Finally on the drive home: Radio Scotland, 'Another Country' with Ricky Ross, dulcet tones of presenter and bands, and the only downside is my ever increasing Amazon wishlist as a result.

So, routine? Maybe I'll tire of these, but not yet.
