Holy Water

Today is the Epiphany, which marks the baptism of Jesus in the Orthodox Church.  The Church conducts 'the rite of the Great Blessing of the Waters', also known as "the Great Sanctification of the Water".  The event also marks the end of the Christmas holidays.  People have been passing in and out of churches all day carrying away their blessed water.  Those brave enough dip themselves into freezing water.
