Silent song

So here we have that lovely little bird of ours, the robin.  He was meant to fit in with the January challenge which is the word "Sing" but he was too intent on being photogenic to sing much for us today.

We found him in the trees by the nearly frozen Pool in Leasowes Park which is often the source of my Blips on Monday now we go out with the walking group round the woods.  It was beautiful this morning, blue skies, sparkling light and below freezing when we set off.

I got chatting to a very sprightly 80 year old who moved into a retirement village a year or so ago and he was telling me all about what life was like in such an establishment.  Some things he really likes, but he is disappointed that more of the residents don't get involved in the activities of the community which should give it more of a village feel.  Apparently there are 50% couples, 40% women who live alone and 10% men who are alone.  He told me all sorts of interesting things about his life and the things that had happened to him over the years.  May he have more years of sprightliness ahead of him.

Little robin is going to be a  songbird who happened to have no song today. Sing birdie, Sing!
