The Ironman - Texas
2.4 mile swim - 112 mile bike - 26.2 mile run
These guys are amazing. They started at 7am. This corner was the first transition where they had just come out of the water, found their bikes, ran towards the road, jumped on their bikes and it was go, go, GO !!!!
We came back to the house with the plan to watch them on their last 8 miles as it passed close to our house. Getting ready to go and our doorbell went! Oh me, I received the surprise of my life. On my doorstep was my beautiful friend, yoga teacher and fellow blipper Gill with her family, all the way from Dubai. She thought she'd return the surprise I once sprung on her. I was gobsmacked, delighted and couldn't stop hugging her....just to make sure I wasn't dreaming :)
I've missed Gill so much since I moved as a friend and my teacher, she's just the best!! Sadly it was a flying visit but we went to watch the bikes and had a lovely family lunch together. It was just like I'd seen her yesterday. Isn't that true friendship, you don't see each other for ages and when you do, you just pick up from where you left off. Made my day! Best surprise ever!!!
Congratulations to all that took part in the Ironman - amazing achievement and such an inspiration to those of us cheering you on !!
