Our Friend Julie

Julie Mammano, with the short dark hair, has been playing bass in this group The Truffles for quite some time. The Hofner Guitar Company now sponsors Julie. Today was our first opportunity to see them perform. The Truffles are Southern California's only acoustic tribute to the Beatles, celebrating the best of the Fab Four with acoustic guitars, a Hofner bass, and shimmering 3-part vocal harmonies. They were fun to listen to and we had a very good time with several other friends enjoying the performance.

Julie is also a well-known author and illustrator of children's books. We've know her for about 15 years and think she is considerably more than cute. She's never been married, but she has certainly filled her life with the wonder of art and creating it for the pleasure of many others.

Well, I didn't get essays graded today and my head is still full of a sinus cold, so maybe tomorrow I can make some progress with my grading.
