Off on a Walk

Passengers disembarking at Tonga Quarry on the Abel Tasman Track. Margaret and I had walked from Torrent Bay to the south. We had hoped to make it to Awaroa in the north but the distance, sheer heat and steep sections of the track got to me. I was zapped out by the time we got to Tonga Quarry. Luckily there is some mobile phone coverage in places on the track so we were able to arrange an earlier pick-up at Tonga Quarry. Then we were able to chill out in one of the loveliest spots in the Abel Tasman National Park for nearly two hours. We lunched, dozed and read our Kindles. We eventually returned to Kaiteriteri and later enjoyed a barbeque tea around the caravan with extended family from Nelson. Along busy but happy day.
