Big Sky, Big Sea

Mother and I enjoyed our morning coffee looking out at this vista from the car.  Lovely day with a brisk wind making it fun time for wind surfing birds.  Some of them are so extreme in their antics. 

Today there must have been some krill swarming near the wave line and it was drawing lots of interest from a variety of sea birds - red-billed gulls, black-backed gulls, shags/cormorants, variable oystercatchers and, my favourite, the tern.  The mixed flock moved slowly up and down the waterline ducking and diving and swirling en masse and filling the air with their calls of excitement.  Finally they dispersed leaving us to enjoy the sound of the sea and watching a handful of surfers enjoying the water.
