Cheap as chips
I have reached the grand old age of 57 without ever owning a deep fat fryer, and actually since hearing the story of the son of a friend of a work colleague some years ago, who burned the house down, I've always been a bit scared of them.
Mr Frenchtoast, who is still here, on sick leave, decided that he needed some home cooked fish and chips and wanted to show me the delights of owning a deep fat fryer, so he bought one in the sales.
The chips of course were delicious, but I kept finding little bits of stone as I was eating, and eventually it dawned on me that my tooth had broken off, and I am left with a stumpy tooth and a dentist appointment for Wednesday!
So that is the delight of owning a deep fat fryer? I suppose the broken tooth has stopped me eating chips now!
