The Tale of the rabbit with No Tail

I own a rabbit tail, but no rabbit's foot.....I keep it
under glass! ;=]  Normally it resides in that covered
compote.  I took it out, made a still life and viola:
my blip for the day!

I had difficulties getting the hair textures to show.
I took at least 25 photos and finally chose the last
one. Sigh!

The story within the story is that I found this tail
in my flower garden last summer.  I have not seen
any tail-less rabbits hopping around so it will forever be a mystery. 
My viewers can provide me with an explanation of the tail with
no rabbit.  I will be looking forward to your creative answers!
