The Guardian of Ancoats

It was a chilly morning to say the least and I slipped and skidded on the snowy pavements to the train to work. There is no snow in the city though just beautiful sunshine today. It's snowing again now, so more of the same tomorrow morning I imagine.

This is a new mural on Great Ancoats St by Brazilian artist Mateus Bailon. A huge exotic bird certainly stands out in a rather drab area and even though it's been there for about 6 weeks, is yet untouched by rogue spray painters. I also liked the azure sky which brought out the rich colours. There are some images of it under construction here
