The Dibble Tree

One of Scotland's Heritage trees and a well known Carnoustie icon. In 1797 Tammas Lousen first feud two and a half acres between the shore and this spot. He is said to have stuck his "dibble" in the ground and came back to look for it later and found it had started growing. This is the resultant willow tree some 200 years later.
Rob and Jenny came visiting and were keen to see the tree which they have read about. Tomorrow they would like to visit a Gallows Tree north of Monikie I am told. Interesting how we need people to visit before we look at what we have on our doorstep.
