Yikes!

My niece is working with the CDC to organize an Ebola vaccine trial in Sierra Leone. She is the perfect person for the job. But she needs to eat a gluten-free diet. She has found her food options to be rather limited, especially when they travel outside of Freetown. So I offered to send her a gluten-free care package. She told me what she wanted and I had great fun putting it together. There are also 2 surprises in the box - she won't be checking blipfoto so I can reveal them - a card from her husband and cards from Bob's class thanking the people in Sierra Leone who are working to fight Ebola. I had his teacher make the cards rather generic so that she could pass them out to her coworkers and the staff at the medical centers they visit.

There turned out to one big hitch - cost of shipping. I knew it would be pricey. My niece specified that it should be shipped via DHL, but they want $814 to ship it.

I fear this box may be more of a welcome home surprise rather than a care package.
