Coffee Klatch

I had no sooner filled the feeder when there were a dozen birds there.  I've seen this cardinal many times but always in the process of flying away, so this is the first time I've managed to capture him.  I thought it looked as though he was having a chat with the Lincoln's sparrow.  In a different shot I actually got the male and the female cardinal together at the feeder.  

Our driveway has gotten very icy, and we have to be very careful that we don't slide out into the road at the bottom, so today Mr M spread cinders over the steepest parts.  Temperatures are going to be low for the next few nights, so now at least we don't have to worry about sliding around in the driveway.
