Pastel coloured houses on the Riu Onyar, Girona

These tall pastel coloured buildings were built along the banks of the Riu Onyar, to replace parts of the old city wall, which were damaged during the 7 month siege by French troops in 1809.
I took the photo from the new pedestrian ironbridge across the River, with the City's dominating monument, the Cathedral, in the background.
It's been a cold, dry day......perfect for sightseeing....as long as you kept moving....and were well wrapped up!
