From the steps of Craignure ferry office

We are now in Glasgow leaving on the 9.00 ferry. The sun was rising in the distance as we drove across the island passing the cold looking landscape in the half light. We arrived early, the port quiet until just before the ferry arrived. CalMac staff appear in their yellow coats and clipboards, cars hurtle into the queue to beat the alloted deadline of 8.30 and it has all become alive.
