Team work!
A cold morning with odd flurries of snow. The snow was too wet to settle, so didn’t cause any problems for us, but attracted many birds into the garden.
Last week I transferred some winter pansies into a hanging basket, not for their beauty, but to catch the bits from the coconut fat feeder. This little group of starlings and the blackbird worked together so that they all had fair shares!!
The pansies came out of the vertical planter (a painted pallet) which was planted up last September. It grew well, but I’ve found that the winter winds whip round the corner and it gets minimal rain, so it won’t serve the original purpose of growing salad stuff. I have other plans for it when we move so all is not lost.
