all in a days' work-
Standing around in India---a very common sight. where is the hurry anyway?
this street is full of life and only 1.5 minute away from our very quiet, tree-lined street.
the shoe mender is here, one of the many, but he did a really good job on my jutties, those marvelous Rajasthani camel-leather shoes which have been my favourite shoes and which have walked the streets of Soller and Palma (de Mallorca) for decades now!!
i keep buying them whenever we are in Udaipur.
also Gables a nice, cosy Goan little restaurant with only few tables and very nice owners.the restaurant called Mezban, seen in the photo is also very good, extremely clean and they have excellent quality rice, so tasty and chewy it is good enough just to eat on its own. but all their food is tasty.
another thing here, is the fact that many very good galleries are situated on this street-- all on the first or maybe even second floor of the buildings. one goes up a rickety, quite dirty, unkempt staircase, opens a door: and hopla!!! you are inside a cool, superbly clean, ordered, and tastefully done-up gallery space.
many more things to describe on this street...no time right now
