Motivation does not always come easily and the past week was no exception. When motivation does come it feels like rays of sunshine poking through clouds of grey.

Break through.

Quite where it came from or what changed I cannot put my finger on, except to say what an answer to prayer.

I later had the opportunity to talk to a prospective new PhD student. Forced to reflect back, it was great to remember the journey that led me to this point. The challenges, yes, but also the joys, blessings and encouragements.

One step at a time, that's all.
