Derelict Thursday Mug Shot

In search of more dereliction we asked permission to visit Fort Lodge - a ruined house on a magnificent site looking across Dunmanus Bay.

Just behind it is a smaller derelict house and we just nipped over the wall to take a look (has to be done doesn't it?).  Extremely muddy but worthwhile. The house has been used recently as a stable and had rooms with the usual brightly coloured walls peeling into deliciously splendid dereliction but I liked this sombre staircase, now powdered from sacks of lime fertiliser, but with a poignant enamel mug, probably someone's daily cuppa once upon a time, adding a poignant touch.
