SHREDDIES FOR SUPPER

Most of the day was spent ripping out the dead stalks of fennel, teasel, artichoke, phlomis, and several other perennials.  The best bit is shoving them through my heavy duty shredder - noisy, heavy work - but effective and satisfying.  And, I have turned all last year's compost heaps and this shredded material is sandwiched in layers in bin number 2. Job done.
