Stan Rose, Organ Blower.

Took a trip to Tarrington today, it's in between Hereford and Ledbury and it's the village my Father and his 9 siblings lived (5 girls and 5 boys) with my Grandmother Annie Elizabeth Rose (nee Barton) and my Grandfather Thomas Rose.
In the Church of St Philip and St James there is a lovely organ which was played thanks to the young lads that manually (boyually?) pumped the bellows to keep the air flowing into the pipes.
One of those boys was my Father, Stanley John Rose, and it was the habit of these boys to scratch their names into the wood at the back of the organ.
I went into the church after visiting my Aunty Grace, one of my Fathers sisters, to see if it was still there and it was.
My Uncle Geoff's name is there somewhere but a few years ago I went over my Fathers name with a pencil so it stood out a bit more.

This carved name was probably done around the early 1930's, he was born in 04 July 1922 so he was probably working the bellows when he was a young teenager or a little before.
