Depth of field

I am continuing my experiments with f1.8.

You can see the sharpness on Lo's nose but such is the shallowness of the depth of field plane that it is blurring before you reach her ear lobe.

The manual focus makes it a real challenge and I can't do much with non stationary objects.

I have auto focus on my Sigma lens but I am blissfully obsessing with my prime at the moment.

I am using only natural light but will probably want to play with fill flash soon.

The shot was taken about mid to late afternoon with the sun on the other side of the house. The light is coming through a French window on the right.
