Introspective Dan

The safekeeper of his dad's virtues, he is sometimes taken by surprise to realize his old man is far from perfect as he maybe once thought... 
A disillusion it may be, but it is part of growing up and getting to know how multifaceted life actually is. 
I didn't put it like that to him. I just said "Dan, grown-ups may seem to know what they are doing but very often they don't."
